We have 2 mini mover classes-

A class for children aged 3 to school age

A class for children in Primary 1 up to approx 8 years

This class will teach basic dance technique, freestyle, acro & lyrical / slow dance.  Other types of dance will also be taught on an ad-hoc basis.

This class will consist of a warm-up, technique, class routine and a cool down.

Members of this class will have the opportunity to take part in medal test examinations and will progress through the different grades.  This is a great way for dancers (especially non-competitive) to show progression and improvement in dance.

COMPETITIVE DANCERS

Competing at 2 different types of competition is available.  It is important to note that attending competitions is optional, many children will wish to be non-competitive only.

  • Disco Freestyle Competitions - these competitions are for freestyle and slow dance only.  Competitors will dance through knock out rounds in their age group and grade.  The dancers who do not get knocked out and reach the final (approx 6 dancers) will be placed and awarded with trophies.  Pairs are sometimes danced at these events.
  •
  • Dance Competitions - these competitions have many different categories of dance. Lyrical, acro, open (where you could do freestyle).  For these events the competitors dance to a piece of music that they have chosen.  Each competitor dances one at a time.  Placings can vary with some competitions awarding to 6th place and other awarding to 10th place.  All dancers will receive feedback on each of their dances from the judges.  Pairs, trios & teams are also danced at these events.

Competitive classes will teach more advanced dance technique, acro, freestyle & lyrical / slow dance.

This class will concenrate on flexability/strength and the dancers competitive routines.
